Barry M. Robinson Medical Simulation

Welcome

This is my personal website for simulation in healthcare. It is slightly different from other simulation sites since it highlights my own particular interests in this subject. I now have a free guide for simulation operations specialists; the Handbook for Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists. You can download the latest edition (updated August 2016) of my Casualty Simulation Techniques Guide, free-of-charge.

I have created a Virtual Vitals Monitor which can be run in a web browser. This monitor is controlled by another web page via a peer-to-peer connection. For more information see Virtual Vital Signs Monitor.

I ran a breakout session in moulage, Moulage Magic at Spotlight on Simulation, held at North York General Hospital on February 25th 2020. Here is a link to the resource page for the moulage breakout sessions Moulage Magic — Spotlight on Simulation.

I presented a poster at the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Conference in Toronto on June 13th 2018. This took place at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, Toronto, Canada. Here is a link to the resource page for my poster Low-cost open source computing in healthcare simulation. I was also at the George Brown College (Waterfront Campus) Pre-Conference day in the morning (same date June 13, 2018) demonstrating the head and neck palpation trainer.

I have now indexed and updated the page for my simulation-in-action presentation "Creating realistic prosthetic appliances using anatomy, physiology, physics, and statistics as a guide" given at the 2017 SIM Expo. The 2017 Expo was held at the International Centre in Toronto, November 30th and December 1st.

Here is the link to Innovate! Materials and Methods for Healthcare Simulation, a presentation I gave at the Northern Simulation Symposium held at Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario on 27 April 2017.

I am always interested in hearing from others in the simulation community: let me know what you think.
